WINDFUHR - LÉWÔZ

Gwo Ka is music born in Guadeloupe and stands for big drum. It is the union of music, dance, and spirit.
Two drummers are playing a specific rhythm as the base. The “Makè”, the third drummer, is placed at the center to follow, feel and whisper any of the dancers gestures. He matches the rhythm and energy of the dancers, becoming their shadow, and establishing a real dialogue between them.
With my project I want to translate the rhythms of Gwo Ka in every upcoming mix.
There are seven specific rhythms.

IGNEZ - SMV002

Not a shred of doubt. Ignez lets his voice be heard in these unprecedented times with four techno cuts on his second solo EP. SMV002 presents a selection of mesmerizing yet rolling tracks conducting a classic sound. A glimpse back to a dance floor filled with liberation and ecstasy, at the same time a mere reflection of the gritty reality today. Somov Records shows where it wants to stand in today’s techno. Let the spirit be free.

FLAWS - PODCAST ASHOKA

This mix is dedicated to the late emperor 'ASHOKA'

"No society can prosper if it aims at making things easier-instead it should aim at making people stronger" - Ashoka

What fascinates me about the story of ASHOKA is the transformation of a previous ruling bloodthirsty emperor to an emperor that led with compassion and empathy.
He is one of the only true leaders to ever try conquer with a sense of morality and peace. There is a deep message in this story which resonates even now.

He pushed for Respect, Tolerance, Generosity and massively encouraged diversity.

'BUDDHISM
Founded between the sixth and early fourth century B.C. by Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha or “enlightened one,” Buddhism soon spread through India and much of Asia. Buddha introduced the concept of peace through inner discipline. His meditations told him that suffering came from desire for sensory pleasures. Therefore, he laid out an Eightfold Path to inner holiness: right view, right aspiration, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right-mindedness, and right concentration.

He taught that through meditation, discussion, humility, and denial of a self, a person could achieve a perfect, peaceful state known as nirvana. As years passed, increasing numbers of Buddhist monks fanned out across Asia, acting as missionaries to promote the faith.

This mix was recorded from an undisclosed location here in the UK. From the Dancefloor to your streaming desires.

I really hope we can be back functioning with full initiative very soon, for the love of the music always!

Peace,
Kai

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from LVTL. The alias of Leidy van ‘t Leven, the Colombian-born, Amsterdam-based artist is the founder of Tenebrism records and Pechera events. Since discovering techno, her destination has been clear - first by sharing the music behind the decks and now delivering her own productions and starting a label that has been putting out a lot of great material. New Brvtalism No. 243 is an amazing journey through LVTL’s hard-hitting, high octane sound and the mix includes loads of upcoming and unreleased material from her label and beyond.
